Pilot design
Facilities included in the proposed phased evaluation model.
A health-system level sample case showing how Checksalus can be evaluated as a multi-site quality and reporting program rather than a single-facility tool.
System leadership had several local quality efforts underway, but no common perioperative intelligence layer connecting them. Facilities documented risk differently, service lines escalated differently, and executive leaders lacked a clean portfolio-level view of complication exposure and reporting performance.
The evaluation therefore needed to solve more than one hospital’s workflow. It needed to show whether Checksalus could create a common language across sites while still fitting different local operational patterns.
Checksalus was framed as a shared analytics and decision-support layer across a phased three-site pilot. The design emphasized standardized risk dimensions, comparable outcome capture, and reporting views that could support both clinical governance and executive finance review.
Because the health system cared about procurement durability, the pilot also included governance artifacts covering data handling, auditability, and rollout sequencing.
These are pilot-design and modeled metrics intended to show how a health system can evaluate enterprise value without overstating live production outcomes.

Modeled impact
Reduction in manual service-line quality reconciliation work.
Modeled impact
Estimated annual complication exposure surfaced for earlier intervention review.
“The system-level value was alignment. Once every site could talk about perioperative risk in the same language, the reporting and finance story improved immediately.”
Multi-hospital network with a self-insured employee population and centralized quality governance
Three-site pilot design spanning flagship hospital, community hospital, and ASC affiliate
